Tya Ariesta’s IVF Program at Age 38, Is There Still a Chance?
The IVF program can still be done even at the age of 38. However, age remains a significant factor in the success of an IVF program.
One of Indonesia’s celebrities, Tya Ariestya, is reportedly considering having another child through an IVF program. The 38-year-old actress expressed her longing to have a baby in their family.
Previously, Tya and her husband had two children through the IVF program. If Tya plans to have another child, this will be her fourth IVF attempt. Tya Ariestya previously faced a failed IVF attempt during her second round. Their efforts to have a second child continued, and the third IVF attempt was successful.
Therefore, if she plans to have a third child through the IVF program, it will be her fourth attempt.
Can IVF Be Done at Age 38?
According to Dr. Beeleonie, BMedSc, Sp.OG, Subsp. FER, an obstetrics and gynecology specialist and fertility consultant at Bocah Indonesia, pregnancy is still possible even at the age of 40. However, the chances of getting pregnant quickly may decrease.
Tanya Ferly tentang Promil?
“If asked whether it’s possible to get pregnant quickly at the age of 40, the answer is no. The success rate of pregnancy is influenced by age. However, if asked whether pregnancy is still possible, the answer is certainly yes. It just might not happen quickly,” she explained.
Essentially, age is one of the factors affecting the success of pregnancy. The younger the age, the higher the chances of success. Generally, women in their 20s and early 30s have higher chances of successful pregnancies compared to women over 35 years old.
In Tya Ariestya’s case, she still has embryos that were previously frozen after the IVF cycles she underwent before.
Why Age Over 35 Is Risky
If you plan to undergo an IVF program, it is recommended to do so before the age of 35. This is because the IVF process involves fertilizing eggs and sperm that have been previously collected. However, the quality of a woman’s eggs decreases with age. Especially if there are certain indications, the IVF program should not be delayed.
Additionally, the readiness of the uterus after the age of 35 can also decline, such as the thickness of the uterine lining, which plays an important role in the embryo implantation process. This is why it is recommended to undergo IVF before the age of 35.
Even so, the success rate depends on each patient. The success rate is higher in IVF cycles performed by women under 35 years old.
