Laparoscopy for Checking Reproductive Organ Conditions
Laparoscopy is one of the examination procedures to diagnose reproductive organ conditions. Not only that, laparoscopy is also performed to diagnose fertility problems.
Moms, have you ever heard of the laparoscopy procedure? Or have you ever done it?
Laparoscopy is a medical procedure performed to diagnose and treat disorders in the female reproductive system. Generally, this procedure is done if there are health problems in the uterus or ovaries.
Now, for moms who want to undergo a pregnancy program, the laparoscopy procedure can be done to determine your fertility condition.
Laparoscopy is one of the minimally invasive surgical procedures. If, in traditional surgical procedures, large incisions are usually required, then laparoscopy only requires small incisions.
Tanya Ferly tentang Promil?
As the name suggests, laparoscopy is done using a tool called a laparoscope, which is a long, thin tube equipped with a camera at its tip. This procedure helps the doctor to see clearer images of the abdominal and pelvic cavities.
Laparoscopy is divided into two types, namely diagnostic laparoscopy and operative laparoscopy. Diagnostic laparoscopy is performed to identify abnormalities in the abdominal and pelvic areas, such as cysts, adhesions, or fibroids.
Meanwhile, operative laparoscopy is performed if further action is needed, such as finding medical disorders in the pelvic or abdominal areas that need to be addressed immediately.
How is Laparoscopy Procedure Done for Fertility Problems?
As the name suggests, laparoscopy is a simple and not too complex procedure. Fertility problems can be caused by several factors, requiring moms to undergo examination through laparoscopy.
This procedure is performed if there are several indications that need to be addressed, such as:
Diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis
Chronic pelvic pain
Removal of fibroid tissue, myomas, ovarian cysts, and others
Pelvic inflammation
Presence of abscesses in the pelvic cavity
Ectopic pregnancy
Presence of cancer in the reproductive organs
Don’t worry, this procedure is performed simply by obstetrician-gynecologists. Moms are advised to urinate before undergoing the laparoscopy procedure.
Here is the series of laparoscopy procedures that need to be done:
First, moms will be asked to lie down before the laparoscopy procedure
Don’t worry, moms will be anesthetized or fully sedated through an infusion tube so moms will sleep during the procedure and won’t feel pain
The doctor will make a small incision near the navel area
Then, the laparoscope device will be inserted
Purpose of Laparoscopy Procedure
The purpose of laparoscopy for fertility disorders is to:
Identify the cause of pelvic pain
Detect the presence of tumor growth in the abdomen or pelvis
Determine if there are cysts, infections, myomas/fibroids, or adhesions in the female reproductive organs causing difficulty in getting pregnant
Take tissue samples or biopsies
Help in managing endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and ectopic pregnancy
Laparoscopy can be performed at the nearest hospital or fertility clinic, one of which is in Bocah Indonesia. If you experience some of the indications above, immediately consult a doctor to get the appropriate treatment.
